This page focuses on the two things that I feel are the most important concerning websites, webmasters, and visitors to any website. Please take the time to read these important notices.

Privacy
     It's never my intention to mislead you, my visitor, into believing that your privacy is of great concern to me and then turn around and give your information to third parties (salespeople, contests, etc.). The following statements are true and I'll never violate them in any way.
     1. Any information gathered via any of the available e-mail links is submitted on a voluntary basis by those wishing to contact the webmaster with their questions or comments. The person's name, e-mail address, and any other information provided will only be used for the purpose of responding to visitor's letters. The information will be deleted from my records once the question or comment is addressed to the satisfaction of the visitor.
     2. To fully comply with the Children's Online Personal Privacy Act (C.O.P.P.A.), I don't knowingly accept any information from visitor's under the age of 16. If you're under the age of 16, please get permission from your parent or guardian before contacting the webmaster.
     3. No information obtained via e-mail or e-mail forms will be released, in any form, to any other person or organization for view or use.
     4. Guestbook entries are viewable by the general public. If you have information you don't want made available to the public, you may leave the block blank or utilize the "private post" feature.
    Regarding genealogical information: No dates or other pertinent information about living members of the family will be released to visitors requesting family outlines. This is done to preserve the privacy of those individuals. Any such information posted at this site is done with the permission of the individuals concerned.

Copyright
    Material copyrighted by the webmaster: The following material may not be used without written permission from the webmaster, Sheila Rae Myers.
    1. Website layout and design. Background, buttons, and lines were created from an original photograph taken by Sheila Rae Myers and may not be used by any other webmaster. Permission will not be granted for use of these graphics.
    2. The family stories, as written.
    3. The state banners on each page as well as my exchange banner.
    4. The photograph on the homepage, photographs and graphics within the site of anything other than people, and award graphics found in our awards program.
   Material copyrighted by other individuals and companies:
    1. All award graphics for awards I've been presented and banners on my links pages were given to me for my use by the owners of the sites to which they are linked.
    2. All award site buttons, membership logos, and "family safe" logos are linked to the sites that have granted me permission to display them at my site.
    3. E-mail forms and the actual guestbook were provided by Bravenet.
    4. Photographs from other sources have a notice located near the photo.
    5. In the event I forgot to mention any "borrowed" graphics, the images are linked to the sites of the individual or company that provided the material or a copyright notice appears on the page where the material is used.
    Genealogical information:
    Because this is a genealogy site, there's a lot of information that isn't covered under copyright laws. The basic information about each individual such as names, dates, and locations are available to the general public. The information provided in this website came from years of personal research, but can all be found in and from various sources. Quotes from someone else's writings are copyrighted (and would be noted above if used on any of these pages), but this data was retrieved from census records, church records, gravestones, and personal interviews all of which are not copyrighted.
    To preserve the privacy of individuals, no information is provided concerning living individuals unless they've granted specific permission for me to post that information.
    What can you copy for your records?
    All of the family information and photos, except for those listed as being copyrighted by other individuals or companies, may be down-loaded to your computer and printed out for use in your personal research.
   Unauthorized use:
    1. You may not use any of the material copyrighted by the other individuals listed above without their express written permission.
    2. You may not use any of the written material in my format and words within these pages on your website without my approval.
    3. You may not use any of the stories, on the story pages or elsewhere, or my original photography for paid publication without written permission from me.
