1. John TITTLE (b.England-d.1747 Pa) married Elizabeth [mnu] (d.1771 Pa). Children: Anthony [see #2], Peter, George, Rachel, John Jr (b.1735), Jeremiah.

2. Anthony TITTLE (b.1731 Pa-d.1813 Tn) married Mary Ann [mnu]. Children: David [see #3], John (d.1817 Tn), George (b.Va-d.1819 Tn), Peter (b.Pa-d.Tn), Samuel (b.Va-d.1838 Tn), Adam (d.Ga), Ann (b.1775 Va-d.1850 Ga).
    Anthony lived on Goblintown Creek in Va. In 1777, during the Revolutionary War, he built a grist mill on this creek. Here he established a large farm which made a comfortable living for his family.

3. David TITTLE (b.1767 Va-d.1835 Tn) married [1st] Sarah HALE. Children [1st marriage]: William Jefferson [see #4], John (b.1795 Va-d.1817 Tn), George (b.1805 Va-d.61/9/1866), Anthony (b.7/13/1806 Va-d.8/10/1874 Mo), Peter. David TITTLE married [2nd] Mary Susannah WALLING. Children [2nd marriage]: Samuel C (b.1826), Lorenzo Dow (b.1831 Tn), Nancy Elizabeth (b.4/7/1824-d.12/31/1883).
    David and Sarah moved by wagon train to the area of Short Mountain in Warren County, Tn. They traveled with the Coffee, Hicks, and Smith families.

4. William Jefferson TITTLE (b.1791 Va-d.1855 Ga) married Mary Ann ADAMS (d.1852). Children: Peter Adams [see #5], John (b.12/12/1818 Tn-d.4/5/1897 Tn), David F (b.11/12/1817 Tn-d.4/8/1880 Tn), George (b.1821 Tn), Nancy (b.4/7/1824 Tn-d.12/31/1883 Tx), Ervin (b.Tn), Elizabeth (b.Tn), Lydia (b.Ga), Anthony (b.Ga), William Jefferson Jr (b.4/30/1845 Ga-d.1/24/1912 Al).
    William owned over 400 acres in the Tn-Ga-Al area. He and Mary died of typhoid during an epidemic.

5. Peter Adams TITTLE (b.3/13/1815 Ga-d.10/20/1885 Tn) married Sarah MARTIN (b.11/25/1818-d.3/10/1907 Tn). Children: Louisa (b.8/28/1841 Ga-1/18/1945), Mary Ann (b.1843 Ga), George Washington (b.12/12/1844 Ga-d.11/11/1934 Tn), John C (b.10/19/1846 Ga-d.11/25/1938 Tx), William Tavner (b.11/16/1848 Ga-d.8/27/1939 Tn), Nancy Elizabeth [see #6], Richard Frank (b.10/16/1852 Ga-d.5/9/1945 Ga), Janie Caroline (b.2/11/1855 Ga-d.12/4/1924 Ga), Lydia M (b.2/11/1855), James Buchanan (b.12/27/1857 Ga-d.2/20/1926 Tn), Cynthia (b.11/17/1858 Ga-d.7/24/1950 Tn), Alonzo (b.2/11/1855 Ga).
    Peter settled in Dade County, Ga. They sold their land to Lee Pope in 1883 and this farm became known as "the Pope Place". Peter then moved his family to Hollemans Bend, Tn. He was a farmer and, as far as we know, he owned 1 slave.
    Note: There is disagreement among researchers as to Peter's middle name. Some have it as Adams, but his wife's tombstone reads "Wife of Peter Adkins". Any clarification is welcome.
