Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever
is noble, whatever is lovely, whatever is
admirable
- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. --
Philippians 4:8 |

HIS NAME |
|
God is referred to by different
names, by different people, in different languages. He referred to himself by
many names - Alpha, Omega, the Beginning, the Ending, I Am to mention just a
few. Any name, when used with respect and reverence, is a correct name.
Consider the following:
Magnificent Creator. No explanation for all that exists is completely
acceptable without acknowledging an all-powerful God. Evolution reaches a
dead-end with missing links and the inability of scientists to reproduce
spontaneous creation from primordial soup. The Big Bang Theory blows up when
no one can explain how a big ball of stuff has enough energy in itself to
just blow apart. And where did that material and energy come from originally?
God created everything, set the worlds in motion, and watches over it all.
Nothing made by human hands can ever match the wonderful artistry of God.
Supreme Lawgiver. The laws to live by were recorded by man. The ten most
important of these laws were originally struck in stone by the hand of God.
Moses delivered the laws to the people. They were later written on paper for
all to read. Most, but not all, of the laws in force today were based on the
moral codes of those on the stone tablets. When God's commandments are
obeyed, all is well; when disobeyed, the result is chaos.
Loving Father. God created the first humans, thus he truly is the Father
of all mankind. How many ways can he show his love for his children? He
believes in man when man forgets, or denies, his presence. He calls to humans
when they're lost as a shepherd calls to the strays. He overlooks the faults,
seeing only the goodness. He only requires that every man, woman, and child
heed his word, accept it as the ultimate truth, and live life accordingly. In
a world where fathers have forsaken their responsibilities, there is still a
Father available to provide for the needs of his children.
Blessed Savior. What could be greater than creating all things,
authoring the world's most followed laws, and loving everyone beyond any
earthly concept of love? There's one thing greater than these things. For one
man to give his life in exchange for the eternal lives of everyone else.
This, the ultimate sacrifice, was the result of the amazing grace of God. No
act of mankind, no matter how unselfish, could ever match this act in
magnitude. There are no words that sufficiently thank God. The most mankind
can do is live life the way God intends and to constantly praise him by both
words and deeds.
