Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever
is noble, whatever is lovely, whatever is
admirable
- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. --
Philippians 4:8 |

NO PERFECTION HERE |
Look at that rundown house;
the genuine, one of a kind, handyman's dream.
The windows have been broken out,
the shingles blown away.
The doors are hard to open,
they hang all askew.
And there, where the paint is peeling,
is revealed several colors beneath.
Could this once again be a home?
I'm sure it could, with a little imagination,
and with a lot of hard work thrown in.
Time to call in the professionals.
My life often resembles that house.
My attitude gets out of square
and my plans bent out of shape.
I get run down and worn out.
Many times in my past,
what I thought a sturdy foundation
became rotted and eroded away.
My faith was beaten and shattered.
The facade peeled away,
the faults showed through.
There's no perfection here,
but that can be fixed.
I call in the Carpenter. |
