Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is lovely, whatever is
admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. -- Philippians 4:8

SIX  POINTS  OF  SALVATION
The six points of salvation can be used to lead someone to Christ. We all need to understand where we come from, what God can do for us, and what it means to be saved.

God Loves You. God makes a point of letting us know he loves us. He doesn't want one person to be far from him. What greater love can be shown than to sacrifice his own son so that we may live. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Everyone has sinned. No one is perfect and blameless. Before anyone can accept the gift of salvation, they must first realize sin is present in their lives. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

The penalty for sin. The disobedience of laws lead to consequences, sometimes severe. When anyone disobeys a traffic law, they may receive a ticket. When someone kills another person, they go to prison. God also metes out punishment for disobeying his laws. James 1:13-14 When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire is conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

Your actions won't make any difference. The only way to salvation is by accepting God's truth. No matter what you've been taught by your religious leader, there's nothing you can do to persuade God to save you. No matter how many good things you do for others is going to matter if you haven't accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.

What it takes. The Bible tells us clearly what it takes to be saved. We can't put it any more clearly than those wonderful words. John 1:12-13 Yet to all who received him [Jesus], to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God - children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or husband's will, but born of God.

How to receive salvation. Whoever seeks salvation must make the decision for themselves. No one else can do it for them. There's only one way to salvation. Romans 9:9-13 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

The new creation. So what will we be like once we've received the gift of salvation. We won't be perfect, but our lives should reflect the fact that God is involved in our lives. A person saved by God's grace cannot continue in their old behaviors. In fact, God will help to make the changes. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
