As a
child, Sheila attended a Presbyterian church and later studied the teachings
of John Wesley and labeled herself a Methodist. During her time in the
military and while attending college, she would attend services labeled
"non-denominational". During these years, Sheila considered herself a
Christian, but in 1999 realized that wasn't the case. While at a Gaither
Homecoming concert, she gave her life to Christ and has been a Christian
since that day. During this time, many people told Sheila they felt she was
called to be a pastor, but she didn't yet feel the same. In November of 2007,
she began to feel the calling to the ministry. After further discussions with
her long time friend, Tom Kent, Sheila recognized her calling and accepted a
position at Starland Friends Center. In January 2008, Sheila established
CrossRose Friends Church and its related ministries and outreaches. To read
